Job Summary

Job Title: MA/Front Office

Department: Vascular

Essential Duties and responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

*Assist Midlevel Practitioner and Physician with clinic visits i.e. rooming patients, vital signs, lab draws, dressing changes, obtaining information, communicating with patients, discharging patients, etc.

Provide patients with pre-procedural instructions and documentation in conjunction with midlevel practitioner and physician instructions.

Coordinate and ensure blood and pathology samples are ordered and sent to lab.

*Coordinate assessment and maintaining PAR levels of procedural equipment and supplies and general clinic supplies, order and stock supplies and equipment.

*Monitor and receive clinic faxes and distribute to physicians, midlevel practitioners, and other clinic personnel in conjunction with Receptionist/ Clerical Assistant, RN, and Scheduler.

*Assist with clinic procedures as needed.

*Perform or assist with procedure room turn over and cleaner as needed.

* Perform or assist with patient staging and recovery as needed.

*Coordinate and obtain authorizations for clinic and hospital procedures with assistance from receptionist/ clerical assistant.

Perform or assist with other clinic tasks as needed.

Cross train and fill in for scheduler or receptionist as needed.

*Manage and maintain reception area including supplies, ensuring waiting patients are addressed, checks on wait times, communicate with waiting patients as needed.

* Assist with patient scheduling in conjunction and coordination with scheduler.

Daily confirmation of NCVIC patients scheduled next day.

Construction of charts for net day clinic patient visits and procedure including priors, reports, H&P, labs, consents, nurses notes, progress notes, others, discharge instructions etc. in coordination with Scheduler.

*Perform and assist with filing daily in conjunction with scheduler. Daily scan of documents in patient charts (chart finalization) and creating charts to file documents. Keep filing aught up daily.

Cross train and fill in for the scheduler for vacation and sick days as needed.

Other functions as required.

Will also need to help out at the front desk, paperwork when not performing MA duties

Education and/or Experience

Certificate as a medical assistant.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
